STEVEN STIGLITZ
Steven Stiglitz is a seasoned business litigator with more than 20 years of practice, and has tried and arbitrated a number of cases through judgment or final award, and defended judgments on appeal.
Mr. Stiglitz was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine several years in a row, an honor reserved for only 2.5% of California’s lawyers, and has become a go-to lawyer in in the areas of business, intellectual property, trade secret, internet, and entertainment disputes.
In the field of internet law, his clients have included Google, Penske Media, Oversee.net, and Roommates.com. In the field of entertainment law, his clients have included United Talent Agency and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, as well as high-profile artists like Kenya Barris and Michael Carbonaro. He has litigated disputes that include profit participation audits, “idea submission” and copyright infringement cases, professional licensing matters under the Talent Agencies Act, and disputes relating to the scope of parties’ rights under various types of production, distribution, and licensing agreements.
Prior to joining Ross LLP, Mr. Stiglitz litigated at Freedman + Taitelman, LLP as well as Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges LLP. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as the Notes Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. He received his B.A., with distinction, in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Stiglitz also serves as a member of the regional board of advisors of Read to a Child (formerly known as EverybodyWins), a national non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged elementary school children with literacy skills.
